Oyakodon Recipe With Chicken And Rice

Cooking a super recipe for Japanese oyakodon with chicken and rice. You haven’t eaten chicken like this before!

Ingredients (For 6 people)

15 grams vegetable oil (2 tablespoons)
15 grams of garlic (5 cloves)
45 grams of sugar (3 tablespoons)
150 grams soy sauce
430 grams of onion (4 medium heads)
550 grams of chicken (I have a mixture of meat from the breast, from the thighs and from the drumstick)
3 eggs
200 grams of rice

How to cook Japanese Oyakodon with Chicken and Rice recipe step by step

  1. Fry finely chopped garlic in oil, add sugar, soy sauce and keep on medium heat for 5-7 minutes, so that the sugar dissolves. Cut the onion into rings or half rings, the main thing is not to cut too thin, add to the pan and caramelize it for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.

2. It will darken and become soft. If the liquid is all evaporated, you can add a little water. Add chopped chicken meat to the finished onion, mix everything and simmer until cooked.

3. Break the eggs into a bowl, shake with a fork, pour over the meat with them, hold on the fire for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly so that they seize. Remove from fire. Boil rice until tender. Serve oyakodon topped with fresh green onions.
